AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 83-57-31, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO CLARIFY THE METHOD USED BY THE COMMISSIONER OF INSURANCE IN CONDUCTING FINANCIAL EXAMINATIONS OF HOME WARRANTY ASSOCIATIONS; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. Section 83-57-31, Mississippi Code of 1972, is amended as follows:

83-57-31. Home warranty associations licensed under this chapter shall be subject to periodic examinations by the department, in the same manner and subject to the same terms and conditions as apply to insurers under Sections 83-5-201 et. seq. and 83-6-27, Mississippi Code of 1972.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 1999.
